Understanding Results in the ForceFrame App

When you run a ForceFrame test in the ForceFrame App, a number of metrics are calculated automatically.

Here is an overview of the metrics displayed in the app:

1
The main display shows a force-time trace during a test

  • Y-axis = force in newtons (N)
  • X-axis = time in seconds (s)
  • Blue line = left force
  • Orange line = right force
  • Negative values (<0N) = force on inner sensors
  • Positive values (>0N) = force on outer sensors

2
The top-left metrics show maximum inner sensor results:

  • Maximum left force is shown in blue
  • Maximum right force is shown in orange
  • Imbalance (i.e. percentage difference between left and right maximums) is shown above

3
The top-middle metrics show maximum outer sensor results:

  • Maximum left force is shown in blue
  • Maximum right force is shown in orange
  • Imbalance (i.e. percentage difference between left and right maximums) is shown above

4
The top-right metrics show a ratio of maximum inner force : maximum outer force
(i.e. >1:1 = Inner force is dominant,  <1:1 = Outer force is dominant)

5

The right-hand results panel shows rep-by-rep results.

Unwanted reps (e.g. accidental reps or reps performed with undesirable form) can be de-selected using the checkboxes next to each rep.

6
The History option shows reference points for the individual being tested, based on the test type conducted:

  • Personal Best is the individual's highest ever left and right results for the test type.
  • Baseline is a saved reference point (often set at the start of a pre-season or season).
  • Moving Average is the average result from the last 1-10 tests, as selected.
