I couldn’t create a VALD account to access my AirBands, what should I do?

  • Please open the AirBands application and click through the 'Sign up' prompt.
  • Check your spam/junk folder for the confirmation email with subject "Welcome to VALD Airbands".
  • Please contact support@vald.com with subject: “AirBands account setup".

What are the minimum smart device specifications? 
  • iPhone 5+
    • Min. IOS 10.0
  • Most Android devices 
    • Min. Android 5.0
  • Requires Bluetooth LE 4.0

AirBands aren't discoverable on the pairing screen - what to do?

  • If your AirBands have been used with another phone or tablet, they will be “locked” to that device - they will not pair with another smart device while the 'locked' device is within close proximity. To allow AirBands to be used with a new smart device, please click the "Forget & Disconnect" button from the AirBands app of the device you would like to free your AirBands from.

AirBands discoverable but I'm unable to pair with them - what to do?

  1. Ensure Bluetooth on and meets minimum BLE 4.0 requirements.  
  2. Ensure AirBands not paired elsewhere (follow how to reset preferences instructions above). 
  3. Toggle Bluetooth on/off (doing this step alone should remedy most issues).  
  4. Power AirBands on/off (hold down on module button for 3 seconds). 
  5. Ensure AirBands not paired elsewhere (follow how to reset preferences instructions above). 

The automatic calibration process didn’t start when I pressed the button, what to do?

  • Please be sure you are using the latest version of the AirBands app (iOS & Android),
  • Ensure the AirBands battery is charged (as indicated in-app),
  • Check the AirBands module-to-cuff air plugs are firmly in place (follow steps below):
    • With fingers, feel cuff material where AirBands module attaches to cuff. 
    • The area should feel smooth with two small rounded bumps - push down on these to secure the module/cuff connection.  
  • Re-run the calibration ensuring that there is no air in the AirBands bladder prior to starting the calibration.
  • Check body posture before starting calibration - it is required that you are stationary, in and in a non-tensed position. 
  • Ensure the AirBands module is in the correct position –  cuff secured around the uppermost portion of your limb with the module facing forward, charging port downwards.
  • Ensure the cuff is not on too tight – you should be able to fit two fingers between the cuff and your limb. 

The calibration process started, cuff started inflating, but failed, what to do?

  • Remain still – maintain a stationary, non-tensed position for the duration of the calibration.
  • Ensure the AirBands module is in the correct position –  cuff secured around the uppermost portion of your limb with the module facing forward, charging port downwards.
  • Ensure air plugs firmly in place (follow steps below)
    • With fingers, feel cuff material where AirBands module attaches to cuff. 
    • Ensure the two plugs that connect air bladder to the AirBands module are completely inserted by massaging the area behind the AirBands module with two fingers
  • Re-attempt inflation only after all residual air in the AirBands bladder has been exhausted.
  • Try varying body positions – sitting knees at 90, sitting knee 180 and torso semi-recumbent and lying. 

Cuffs calibrated, but didn’t inflate afterwards when reaching the exercise screen, what to do?

  1. Press the deflate button in-app.
  2. Ensure no residual air is in the AirBands bladder prior to pressing inflate.
  3. If there is residual air left in bladder, please apply gentle pressure with hands to remove air and once air emptied, 
  4. Press inflate button in-app (both AirBands will inflate now). 

I walked away from my phone and the AirBands stopped working, what to do?

  • Press the module button on AirBands themselves to automatically re-connect to app
  • Check the top of your devices screen to ensure AirBands are

AirBands not pairing on a new smart device, what to do?

  • AirBands have an auto-reconnect feature, which means they will remain paired to original paired smart-device.
  • Prior to attempting to use AirBands on a new smart device, please select click on the AirBands module next to the serial number of the paired AirBand on the "Let's pair your AirBands" page. 
  • You will now see the "Forget & Disconnect AirBand" click this. 
  • You're now free to attempting pairing on a new smart device.
