How to Bulk Upload Athletes on VALD Hub

The Athlete Management page of VALD Hub includes a bulk upload feature, allowing multiple athletes to be created and/or updated using a .csv file. 

Using Bulk Upload to Create New Athletes: 

To create new athletes, the .csv file needs to follow the below format exactly. To download a template file, click here

Given name, sex and date of birth are the only required fields, with all other columns optional. The date of birth must match the format selected in the team profile. This can be updated by going to the settings menu of VALD Hub and selecting the desired date format. 

The sport value must be selected from a set list. The available sports can be found by clicking 'Add Athlete' on the Athlete Management tab of VALD Hub and searching the drop down list. If you would like a different sport to be made available for selection, please email support@valdperformance.com. The sport value is optional so may also be left blank. The sport specific position can be any value. 

Each athlete can be included in up to 8 groups. Only groups which already exist within the team are able to assigned via a bulk import. For help with creating groups on VALD Hub, view this article

Using Bulk Upload to Edit Existing Athletes: 

To update existing athletes, the Athlete ID must also be included in the .csv file, alongside given name, sex and date of birth. 

To obtain this, first download the existing profiles, by selecting the relevant athletes and clicking the blue 'Download Selected' button at the top of the page. 

The downloaded .csv file will include all information currently existing in the athlete's profile. Given name, sex and date of birth are required fields, with ID also required to update the existing profile. The date of birth must match the format selected in the team profile. This can be updated by going to the settings menu of VALD Hub and selecting the desired date format.

Note: The athletes visible in the management tab of VALD Hub will depend on the permissions of the user's account. Team Admins can view all athletes within the team, regardless of how (or if) they are grouped. Group Admins can only view the athletes within the groups associated with their account.
